Your daily interactions with PCA personnel in Technical and Operations will sharpen your communication skills and strengthen your leadership qualities.
You will have a real impact on the overall process. As you learn about the department’s process, you will use data collection, experimentation, and analysis to troubleshoot and solve actual problems associated with your projects. You will also realize the importance of coordination and teamwork between the departments. In each department, you will take responsibilities to ensure the quality of the process, the efficiency of production and the reliability of the equipment.
Principle Accountabilities include:
- Work with project teams, engineers, maintenance, consultants, contractors, vendors, and operations.
- Work on special projects assigned to assist engineers, teach responsibility, and improve communication.
- Contribute coordination activities including updates to or management of: Input/Output (IO) lists, checkout documents, cable schedules, Process and Instrument Diagrams (P&ID) markups, etc.
- Review process control narratives, specifications, and best practices against process control configuration
- Participate in process control checkout activities as directed by checkout coordinators.
- Ability and willingness to travel on assignments
Educational Requirements/Qualifications:
- Must be currently enrolled student majoring in Chemical, Mechanical, Electrical Engineering or related discipline and have completed the freshman year.
- A minimum grade point average of 3.0/4.0 is required
- Must be eligible to work in the US on a full-time basis
Abilities/Skills:
- Strong written, verbal, analytical, and interpersonal skills are essential
- High energy and intellectual curiosity
- Candidate must display maturity and a high level of professionalism
- The student must take ownership of his work. The ability to work with other mill or corporate personnel, operators, and supervisors is a requirement. A positive work attitude is essential.
