We are seeking resumes for a Paper Machine Supervisor at our Gladstone, VA Riverville Mill.

Summary:

Supervise employees operating paper machines to maintain production, quality and efficiency. Troubleshoot operational problems of both machines. Coordinate with maintenance to define problems, initiate work orders and schedule repairs. Manage administration functions, including training, scheduling, filling vacancies and time-off requests. Address, investigate and resolve disciplinary issues.

 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Troubleshoot problems on paper machines; investigate and resolve problems. Manage process improvement and initiate changes.
  • Responsible for production and quality of products.
  • Responsible for administrative functions of employees, including training, scheduling, monitoring job performance, arranging replacements for vacancies or time off, conducting meetings and audits.
  • Coordinate maintenance of paper machines, identify and resolve problems, generate work orders, schedule repairs, monitor startups and shutdowns for safety compliance and production goals.
  • Assist with other duties as needed.

Basic Qualifications 

  • Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in industrial setting in paper and pulp related function.
  • Flexibility in the work schedule, including some evenings and weekends.
  • Must have strong demonstrated leadership skills and the proven ability to lead effective teams. 
  • Problem solving skills and the ability to positively implement change. 
  • Excellent communication (verbal and written) and interpersonal skills are essential. 
  • Strong computer skills required including Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, Word, and Outlook.

 

Knowledge and Skills Required

  • Proficiency in wet end and dry end papermaking practices.
  • Extensive knowledge of the papermaking process and equipment with ability to train and supervise technicians.
  • Supervisory training and experience.

 

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in closely related discipline
